Monday, January 18th, was a big day for the I Care boys. The South African Football Team – Bafana Bafana – gave them something special when they turned up at Umuzi to meet our youngsters. The team mingled with the boys, chatting to them, giving them a lot of encouragement and then presenting them with gifts. Each young man received a signed t-shirt, football and vuvuzela. Then Bafana Bafana autographed the boys’ shirts for them, giving them a day to remember.
Lucia gave a short talk, telling the team about I Care and asked that they maintain an on-going commitment to our boys. They were happy to agree to do so, saying they felt that they had made new friends today and our yougnsters agreed wholeheartedly.
SABC 3, eTV, Supersport, various local Newspapers and Radio stations were all present, helping to make it a memorable occasion for everybody.
