Our older boys have settled in well at Jump Youth Mission in Buffelsdraai, where they reside under the caring eye of Kevin and Valerie. They are participating in the Rehabilitation program including intense courses in Life Skills and Job Preparation. Once the rehabilitation program is completed, these boys will be attending open days with their mentors and service providers and hear about the various Skills Courses on offer. They then make an informed decision after much discussion as to which course they would like to attend.
I Care endeavors to offer these boys training that they would be able to become entrepreneurs should they battle to find employment, as well as to be able to take a skill back to their community and perhaps teach others. A few of the courses that these boys have attended are: bricklaying, panel-beating, spray painting, metal works, welding, baking, refrigeration / aircon repairs.
