On Friday, February 12, East Coast Radio KZN gave I Care the opportunity, through Jenni-Lyn van Niekerk, to share an interview by Damon Beard with Marc Hardwick from The Guardian and Carol van den Berg from Greyville Ministries.
Damon wanted to know what was planned for our Outreach Day on February 20 and over 2 million listeners heard about the wonderful things we have planned for the children in the area. There will be a street “clean-up” involving everyone, talks by representatives from organisations caring for different needs such as HIV, drugs, trauma and abuse, music and plenty to eat and drink.
Apart from advertising this special day Jenni-Lyn was also able to chat about I Care and what we are doing to help the children living on the streets in Durban and surrounds.
During the broadcast more than twenty calls were received from people wanting to help and donations and calls are still coming in one week later.
